This Mighty Nation was founded on dreams.
America was settled by individuals that
dreamed for a place where they could have
freedom of worship. A place where one could
live without oppression. A safe haven
for their families. A place where one could
live up to their expectations.

When the industral revolution began,
a total new way of life was created for most
Americans. Men, Women, and even Children were
expected to work 16 hours or more a day and with
very little pay. It was either this or no work!
For many years the dreams of many families
was smothered by big business while the companies
kept growing richer and richer.

Finally Men and Women decided to fight back!
They began to stand together on issues and fought
to form Unions. Many lives were lost in this
battle for dignity, however, they DID succeed
and the National Relations Labor Board was
established. The front line between company greed
and American dignity lies within the Union.
We fight for the rights of workers to have a
decent place to call home. We fight for the right
to see our children receive a decent education so
they can better themselves as we have in the past.
We fight for health benefits so our families
can receive decent medical care.
To simply put it....we fight for the American Dream!

Over a hundred years ago Fredrick
Douglass made this statement and it
still holds true today!

"The whole history of the progress of
human liberty shows that all concessions
yet made to her august claims have been born
of earnest struggle. Find out just what
people will submit to, and you will have
found the exact amount of injustice and wrong
which will be imposed upon them; and these will
continue until they are resisted with either
words or blows, or with both. The limits
of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance
of those whom they oppress."

And to that I say Amen!
